Mount Kenya 5 Days Chogoria – Sirimon Route

Early departure from Nairobi to Chogoria town covering 230–240 km, about a 6-7 hours drive depending on traffic on 4x4 vehicles to Chogoria Gate.

Trek starts through bamboo forest and moorland zones on a gradual incline with great views.

Arrive at Lake Ellis Camp for dinner and overnight, take in the best views of the camp and lake Ellis.

Trekking: 3–4 hours (depending on the hikers speed)
Terrain: Forest & Moorland

Trek across rolling moorlands with stunning views.

Optional detour to Lake Michaelson viewpoint.

Arrive at Mintos Hut Camp near the spectacular Temple cliffs.

Afternoon acclimatisation walk.

Trekking: 5–6 hours (depending on the hiker's speed)
Scenery: Gorges, tarns & alpine valleys

Early alpine starts for summit push (2–3am).

Summit Point Lenana at sunrise for breathtaking views of Batian and Nelion peaks.

Descend via Hausberg Col to Shipton’s Camp for breakfast and rest. 

Trekking: 8–10 hours
Highlight: Spectacular summit sunrise

Descend through Mackinder’s Valley.

Enjoy unique alpine vegetation including giant lobelias and groundsels.

Overnight at Old Moses Camp.

 Trekking: 4–5 hours

Gentle descent through rainforest or opt for a drive through to the gate.

Transfer back to Nairobi.

Trekking: 2–3 hours
